About Kappa Phi Zeta Sorority

As a sisterhood, we were founded in 2014 by our 12 wonderful founding mothers who set the foundation of our wonderful sorority. Our sorority was founded at Doane University in Crete, Nebraska. Our founding mothers saw that there were a total of 5 fraternities and only 4 sororities. They felt the need to have the fifth sorority and Kappa Phi Zeta is here. These strong women worked hard for their passion, and we strive to keep working hard at our own passions. Kappa Phi Zeta is here to stand for women empowerment and mental illness.
We did have to deactivate for most of 2019, but our sisters fought hard to keep our sisterhood alive. We were reactivated for the 2020 semester.
Our letters were chosen by their meanings towards our sorority. Kappa stands for facing the inevitable, Phi stands for intuition and renewal, and Zeta stands for sacrifice.
The founding mothers also decided on our 11 pillars associated with the Kappa Phi Zeta sorority. They are respect, unity, honesty, acceptance, scholarship, leadership, integrity, loyalty, spirituality, empowerment, and devotion. To learn more about the pillars in depth, click here.
We the sisters of Kappa Phi Zeta strive to accept and appreciate all our members, embracing our differences while holding onto our shared values. We support one another through our thoughts, words, and actions and devote ourselves to one another through our core values and the Doane Greek community values.
We strive to come together as a sisterhood to serve the Doane and Crete communities. In order to promote the further advancement of the Greek system, we encourage diversity among our sisters and take full advantage of various talents in all segments of culture and society, and advocate greater solidarity in the DoaneGreek Community. We also strive to nurture intellectual, emotional, and social development.
